The Chicago Police Department operates six Strategic Decision Support Centers (SDSCs) which are district-level real-time crime centers.The Strategic Support Decision Centers were launched in 2017 and utilize over 35,000 cameras. They have access to at least 240 ALPRs, gunshot detection technology, face recognition, and other databases.
