Through a $30,000 federal grant, the Stow Police Department outfitted its entire patrol division with Watchguard body-worn cameras in 2016. In January 2022, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine awarded $53,005.00 to the Stow Police for expenses associated with launching or maintaining body-worn camera programs.

More about this technology

Many law enforcement agencies require officers to attach body-worn cameras to their chests or shoulders to capture interactions with suspects and the public. Some cameras stream live and can be combined with face recognition technology.
