The Fort Worth Police Department was using drones mostly for missing persons cases, but in 2020 it began deploying drones during the COVID-19 pandemic to enforcement social distancing, particularly with the city's homeless population.

More about this technology

Drones are also known as unmanned aerial vehicles. Police remotely control these devices to surveil crowds from above or locations that would otherwise be difficult or dangerous to observe by a human on the ground.
