The U.S. Department of Justice awarded $27,000 to the Mingo County Sheriff's Department in 2018 as part of the Bureau of Justice Assistance's body-worn camera grant program. Mingo County Sheriff's Office received $56,000 to purchase 28 body-worn cameras through the Small, Rural and Tribal Body-worn Camera Program in 2024.
